Chord Odyssey  - kabel głośnikowy konfekcjonowany

Chord Odyssey uses the same materials as Rumour.  The difference comes down to the size of the conductors.  Both cables use the same number of silver-plated oxygen free copper strands for each conductor. Odyssey’s heavier gauge conductors bring so much more detail and dynamics to a system, along with a degree of control and definition that can transform the performance of both floorstanding and standmount loud speakers.  Odyssey was launched in 1998 and set a new standard of performance. It’s neutrality, its compatibility and consistency of performance from system to system made it very rapidly our most popular speaker cable.  It worked consistently with all types of amplifier.  Reviews at the time spoke of high end speaker cable performance characteristics at a bargain price.

Hi-Fi News – the king of high end audiophile equipment reviews – liked Odyssey so much because of its performance and price that it won the best speaker cable award for five years in a row.

The current Odyssey still uses the same conductors and like Rumour, the only changes have been cosmetic. The current version has a white PVC outer jacket with a diameter of 8mm, still discrete in speaker cable terms and still good enough to let even the biggest of systems sing like they should.

After Odyssey it took us another six years to come up with a speaker cable that was clearly better, and when we did it was the original Chord Signature and that cost four times as much as Odyssey! The conductors used in Odyssey are used in our Chord Epic and Chord Epic Reference speaker cables.

Part of our speaker cable range for the past 18 years, Odyssey remains a remarkable speaker cable, though if you’re considering Odyssey you should also have a listen to the similarly priced Chord Shawline.  Shielding was important in 2004 when we first started to produce shielded speaker cable. In the intervening years they’ve become critical.
